Food Choices

Planning to have your dream wedding this year? The wedding is once in a lifetime of a bride and a groom. Wedding rings, entourage, venues and catering services are the elements in selecting the wedding packages in the Philippines.

You need to have enough time to choose everything on it in a box. For me, food choices are the most important factor in planning a wedding aside from the venue especially to the guests that you have invited. You don’t want to have to be a “hungry bride” right? Keep this food choice in making decisions for your dream wedding.

1. Do not have meat all the time.

If you love the Filipino recipes like the meat, it might be tempting just to serve mostly with meat at your reception. Same with chocolate lovers, cheese lovers or the vegetarian lovers. It is still important to remember that even you’re the host of the event doesn’t mean your family and guests will feel the same way. Be sure to have choices to accommodate the possible options and anyone who doesn’t eat meat. Also if you have guests/s that have allergies better meet them before having the varieties of food. Put the balance to provide the wants of the guests in your wedding.

2. Bite-sized foods.

Have enough food for your guests. Like the sandwiches with cheese, burgers, bacon wrapped treats, meatballs, and chicken lollipops are fun ideas to serve for them. With all the events and dancing the guests that they’re doing at the reception, they need to fuel up.

3. An eight-course meal.

Your guests are not going to your wedding just to have an excellent dining experience. They wanted to catch up with your friends and families. Try to keep your menu to about three courses to allow for a good dining-to-dance ratio.

4. Do not overly complicate your dishes.

Keep it simple. The more the complication is, the longer the caterer will assemble the plate and get the food out to your guests. If you’re having a large wedding and your food requires a lot of intricate steps, your caterer will be most likely to need to prep the plates ahead of time, which can severely impact the quality of your food. Stick to the basics so your guests can enjoy their food.

5. Seafood in the dining.

If you have a partner that loves to eat seafood trying anything, your guests may play it a little safer when it comes to their food choices. There are plenty of more universally appealing options that are the better fit for a wedding. Make sure what’s on your menu is accessible to the majority of your guests.

6. Have fun with your foods.

It’s also a time to have fun. Don’t feel like you have to serve all the traditional foods in a wedding. Put your spin on the tradition with a spicy dipping sauce. If you have a thing for cupcakes or desserts, serve them in a bite-size, not with the traditional three-tiered cake.

Also, the price of the food, the price of serving it are also components to consider. A caterer’s bill lumps these two factors together in one per person price, but it can be helpful to think of them separately when planning your budget, ask your caterer to serve it in smaller portions as an appetizer. If your menu includes expensive foods, choose a more economical style of service – a big, steaming platter of lobster offered family style is just as tantalizing as a lobster tail that arrives on each guest’s plate, and the cost of serving it is much lower.

Nonetheless, don’t stress over the menu, your family and friends may also be able to offer you some helpful wedding food suggestions based on their experiences. Whatever you choose, remember that the most important part of the day is celebrating with family, friends, and spouse.
